Tengan mucho cuidado y no contraten los servicios de este señor. Me hizo perder mucho tiempo y dinero con el trámite de la nacionalidad española sefardí. Deposité toda mi confianza en él y terminó fallándome. Además, es una persona sumamente ruda y poco servicial con el cliente. Busquen otras opciones.

A Deeply Disappointing Experience with Luis Portero Abogados My father was overjoyed at the opportunity to obtain Spanish citizenship as a Sephardic Jew—both for himself and for our family. We trusted Luis Portero to guide us through this important and personal process. When he visited New Mexico, he spoke with confidence and promised to handle our case with dedication and professionalism. Based on that trust, my family paid him several thousand euros upfront. Unfortunately, the experience that followed was anything but professional. From the beginning, communication with Mr. Portero’s office was sporadic and frustrating. Months would pass with no response to our inquiries. Eventually, we traveled to Málaga to meet with a Notario Público and were told to deliver our documentation to one of Mr. Portero’s assistants—without any attorney present. We were assured that our application would be submitted and that a decision would be rendered within two years. Years later, after following up repeatedly—especially on behalf of my elderly father—we discovered that our documents had never been submitted. Not only did Mr. Portero fail to inform us of this, but we later learned that it was his own office that had misplaced essential documentation. Despite this, no one from the firm ever contacted us to request the missing materials—an obligation clearly outlined under Spain’s professional ethical duties for attorneys. It became evident that Mr. Portero had taken on far more clients than his firm could handle. When I finally reached him after multiple cancelled meetings, he was dismissive, rude, and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing by his office. Without explanation, he abruptly informed me that he would no longer represent me. To this day, we have not received our original documents or any meaningful resolution. This experience has been heartbreaking. What was supposed to be a moment of connection with our heritage became a prolonged ordeal marked by neglect, disrespect, and abandonment. I posted a review previosuly, along with many other disappointed clients and Luis deleted the whole page to try and wipe his record clean. There were more negative reviews than positive. Please be cautious if considering legal services from Luis Portero Abogados. Our family entrusted him with something deeply meaningful, and he failed us at every step.
