Customer Reviews

Nacho Correa Gallardo (☆ 5/5)

Food was decent, staff friendly, nice terrace. However synchronizing serving the food and taking orders seemed to be somewhat challenging. One waiter making a chaos of it all and the other trying to smooth things out. Left us getting food separately and not eating simultaneously and having the drinks before and after the food but not together with the food.
Helen (☆ 3/5)

Customer Reviews
They have a variety of dishes from South American cuisine(s). There’s tofu alternatives for the majority of the dishes in the menu, which is great. Despite this, we were told they didn’t have tofu at the moment and we left. Second time, I asked for a glass of tap water but they brought a regular bottled water, probably a miscommunication but it didn’t sit well with me. Overall, it’s good, I’d go again.

If you find yourself wandering the charming streets of Málaga, craving a vibrant, soulful Latin American meal, Andino should be high on your list. This humble, inviting spot brings together flavors from across the continent, offering a mix of comforting classics and fresh, veggie-forward options.
We grabbed a seat on their beautiful patio, nestled right on the street, where the lively energy of Málaga paired perfectly with a rich red wine and a refreshing margarita—a duo that set the stage for an excellent meal. Inside, the space is smaller, cozy, and unassuming, but the patio is where you want to be.
The menu spans multiple Latin American regions, and there’s something for everyone, from carnivores to plant-based eaters. My dining partner went for a beef and French fry dish, a classic comfort plate with tender, well-seasoned meat. But the real surprise? The rice. Too often an afterthought, here it was light, flavorful, and cooked to perfection—a small detail that speaks to a kitchen that cares.
I went for a veggie enchilada, and it was exactly what I hoped for: stuffed with actual vegetables (not just a pile of cheese), wrapped in a soft tortilla, and smothered in a deeply flavorful sauce that tied it all together. The balance of textures and flavors was spot on, and with just the right amount of cheese, it hit that comfort-food sweet spot without being overwhelming.
Service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely. The entire experience had a quiet, humble charm that made it feel like a true neighborhood favorite rather than a flashy tourist stop.
Final verdict? Absolutely worth a visit. Whether you’re a fan of Latin American cuisine or just looking for a great meal with a welcoming atmosphere, Andino delivers. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
Julian Foster (☆ 5/5)

Wow, what an unforgettable experience! We ordered five different dishes, and every single one was an 11/10. Beautifully presented, and bursting with Latin American flavor. From the first bite to the last, it was nothing short of amazing. The cocktails with Pisco were also amazing
Dont miss this place!
Mike Schouw (☆ 5/5)

Marco Mancarella (☆ 5/5)

Loved it! Stumbled upon this place while looking for Latin-inspired food. The service was very friendly, food was really tasty and flavourful, all ingredients tasted fresh and good. We are full and happy ❤️ Maybe a little pricy, but nonetheless recommend!

Consigliato!!
Manuela Moiola (☆ 5/5)

Absolutely amazing! Delicious food!! We loved tapas and the seafood paella. Service was very fast and nice. Also everyone was very friendly. Honestly it felt very good after trying the tourist traps. Definitely will visit again. Prices are reasonable.

We were sat at a nice table outdoors and ordered straight away as we wanted paella and they advertised theirs was the best on their front chalk board.
We were told it was a 25 minute wait and that was fine. But, we ended up waiting a full hour and it only came after we asked. When it came out there was a skin on top and it was obvious it had been sitting for a while. The table next to us sat down 30 minutes after us and also ordered paella which came minutes after ours. Theirs was steaming hot and the rice was fluffy unlike ours that was gluggy.
Once finished, other tables around us were cleared but we had to sit with all our dishes. We had to ask 3 times for the bill to arrive. It felt like our table was invisible for some reason. We were never rude or unreasonable (even though we felt like we wanted to be) so cannot understand the complete lack of good service for our table only.
For our first experience with paella in Spain, it was very disappointing.
Joanne Moore (☆ 1/5)

Buen trato, profesionales y cercanos.

Mooie locatie bij de Kathedraal. Personeel is vriendelijk. Smaak was redelijk.
Claudia Verberk (☆ 4/5)

Had a lovely Paella for dinner here. Had plenty of seafood and chicken in it. Great view of the cathedral facade, especially when it lights up at night. Great service, food and location. Recommend
Nathan Hobbs (☆ 5/5)

Comida buena.

Restauraci jsme navštívily hned dvakrát, poprvé jsme si daly tapas s lososem, tuňákem, vepřovým masem. K tomu jsme si daly pečené brambory s pikantním dipem a ty byly parádní. Vše bylo výborné. K tomu samozřejmě sangrii. Ta byla taky výborná. Druhý den jsme se vrátily a daly jsme si syrový tapas a opět vše vynikající. Doporučují. Výhled a atmosféra k úžasná. Doporučuji.

Customer Reviews
A++! I almost didn’t go here because of the reviews initially, and I was really mad when I went because I loved the place. It’s very classily made with interior made from wood in a semi open space – it is a true pleasure to sit here. The service was amazing – very attentive, they give you bread olives salt etc. the food was all pretty good. The choice of meats was amazing. The menu is to die for – a lot of rare dishes like lamb kidney or game meat, some only served exclusively depending on the day. They spent a lot of effort in creating the menu and it shows! I would love to go here and order a huge tomahawk next time. I recommend the place wholeheartedly!
Stanislav Kozlovski (☆ 5/5)

Miguel (☆ 4/5)

Well oiled machine. Great food. Staff are good but it’s service you get, not hospitality. Warning, how ever you think you like your steak cooked, ask for one level if not two, more well done. These are big steaks. We ordered medium rare and it came, in an English opinion, blue.
Jared King (☆ 5/5)

Fernando Fernandez (☆ 5/5)

We had a really amazing dinner for Father’s Day. The steak is different from the ones we get in the US and that’s a good thing, the meat is leaner and has a really good beef flavor. If you’re a steak lover | highly recommend. FYl, their temperature scale is different from the US, we ordered medium well (blasphemy l know and it would be considered medium rare ish). Our waiter Samu Fernando was really good and helped 3 Americans that have horrible Spanish enjoy our dinner.

Espectacular montado, elegante y moderno.

Customer Reviews
I had the tasting menu, and it was great.
First of all, the service was excellent—very nice and helpful. It’s a pleasure to see people who genuinely care about what they do.
I chose the big tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was a pleasant experience. There were many interesting combinations and surprising flavors. The wine selection was excellent, and the desserts at the end were delicious.
I definitely recommend this place for a great dining experience!

Esperamos volver pronto.

We visited Beluga on a Saturday afternoon in January. There were two set menus to choose from (in addition to other options) and we had the smaller one together with wine pairing. The whole experience was great; food that had been prepared with great care and attention with service to match.
With it’s Michelin credentials this was never going to be cheap, but in our opinion the cost was reasonable for the quality of experience

Tasca láska appears to offer a wonderfully inviting atmosphere. The reviews suggest a focus on creating a comfortable and pleasurable dining experience, with staff consistently praised for their kindness and promptness. The level of attention given to each guest seems exceptional, making it a place where solo diners and larger groups alike can feel genuinely welcome.

Customer Reviews

An easy place to eat, I felt comfortable eating solo. Good service. Fun tapas with a touch of creativity. Nice decor. Had a tuna taco, goat cheese on a thin cracker, a fabulous mushroom, pork and cheese open faced sandwich, and a goat meat spring roll which would be more interesting with a different sauce rather than the typical sweet spring roll sauce. I liked that they were exploring original tastes with their tapas.

Flor y Renata are perfect hosts. We choose almost all of the available Tapas and they dosed the orders to perfection. We had ample time to enjoy all the flavours of the Tapas and the very smooth house rosado. All in all a very nice evening Thanks to good cooking and an excellent staff!
Bert Mensink (☆ 5/5)

During our holiday visit to Málaga, we decided to stop by this restaurant for a late lunch. The staff were very kind and quick. They seated us at a table that had enough space for our mischievous three-year-old daughter.
We ordered the pumpkin soup and paella with chorizo. The staff informed us that the food would take around 30 minutes to prepare, but in reality, we waited much less.
The soup was thick with a smooth texture, although it could have been a bit more flavorful for our taste. The paella was excellent, and the portion size was more than generous.
From our point of view, we can only recommend this restaurant.
Greetings from a Czech, a Slovak, and a little Czechoslovak girl.

Byliśmy już dwa razy w trakcie naszych wakacji i planujemy kolejny! Jedzenie jest przepyszne! Jesteśmy dużą ekipą, spróbowaliśmy wielu pozycji z karty i wszystkie były rewelacyjne! Polecamy z całego serca jedzenie i obsługę ❤️
Ewa Krentorz-Biela (☆ 5/5)

Great paella and big portion! The only downside is waiting period can be very long. We waited for almost half an hour til our appetizer and main to arrive . However the wait was worth – the paella was flavorful with generous seafood, one of the best sangria I’ve tasted!

Nice Italian restaurant. Not too big. There are tables outside on the street. We ordered pasta with truffles. It was good but not so delicious as we tried in Rome. The staff is friendly and the service was quite fast. The place is clean with an interesting interior. An ambiance was also good.

Oh man, you know when you go somewhere and you really want to give them top marks but can’t… First the food, pasta starter with cheese and ham AWESOME (nice one chef) cooked to perfection VERY tasty. Pizza I had was AWESOME again fresh amazing base loved it. The Mrs had a special salad, whilst fresh ingredients was only salad tomatoes and cheese.. sourpuss were lovely, decor, location top marks. Not so good, the service was, well, we felt we were putting the waitres out, slow service (it wasn’t busy) explanation of dishes and ingredients limited, we were only asked if the meal was OK at the end when she noticed my wife had left half her plate… Would I recommend this place… yes I would, prices are good, I would try the pizza, and pasta dishes… BOOK in advance to guarantee a seat.. easy through Google maps link.

La Ristobottega – prawdziwa włoska uczta w sercu Malagi
Wyjątkowa pasta z grzybami zachwyca głębią smaku i intensywnym aromatem.

¡Altamente recomendado!

Had a wonderful dinner here. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The sushi was fantastic – especially the fried one (possibly tuna?). If you could share the name, we’d love to order it again! The complimentary bread and dip at the beginning was a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, making for an enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend this place. The dessert was great too!

Marga Corchero (☆ 5/5)

After entering you will find luxurious interior with a great atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and caring. I ordered multiple courses.
Amis Bouchee: bread with home made tomato garlic mayo. The mayo was 5star, bread could be crunchier.
Cauliflower steak: very good
Sushi: one of the best I had in a long time!
Mini burger: very good
Iberian gyoza: very good
If I need to look for a negative point, perhaps I should have been advised to not order that much food, I was rather supported in that decision. When the bill arrived, I was very surprised of a low price.
Truly amazing and fine dining experience! 10/10 recommendation!

Amazing place with a nice fancy atmosphere.
The waitress ( Eli) is fantastic, very gentle, professional and helped us to find a delicious wine with our menu.
We had a mix of Asian fusion food which was exquisite!
Everything was just perfect. Great place to go for a delicious and relaxing experience in the center of Malaga.

¡Totalmente recomendable!

Frequently Asked Questions about Gourmet Restaurants in Malaga
What defines a "gourmet" restaurant in Malaga?
A gourmet restaurant in Malaga is typically defined by its commitment to high-quality ingredients, innovative cuisine, and exceptional service. They often focus on using locally sourced produce, seasonal menus, and employing chefs with extensive culinary training. Presentation and attention to detail are also key hallmarks.
How do I find authentic gourmet restaurants, and not tourist traps?
Distinguishing genuine gourmet establishments from tourist traps can be tricky. Look for restaurants located away from the main tourist areas, often in older neighborhoods. Read reviews on multiple platforms and look for mentions of seasonal menus, use of local ingredients, and a focus on traditional techniques. Look for a limited menu, a sign that the restaurant is concentrating on quality.
What types of cuisine can I expect at gourmet restaurants in Malaga?
While Malaga is known for its traditional Spanish cuisine, gourmet restaurants often offer innovative twists. You’re likely to find interpretations of Andalusian specialties like pescaíto frito (fried fish) and espetos (grilled sardines), prepared with refined techniques. Many also feature modern Mediterranean influences, with dishes incorporating fresh seafood, organic vegetables, and creative sauces.
Are reservations necessary at these restaurants?
Yes, reservations are strongly recommended, particularly during peak season (summer months) and on weekends. These restaurants tend to be quite popular and often operate at full capacity. It’s best to book well in advance to secure a table, especially if you have a specific date or time in mind.
What is a typical price range for a meal at a gourmet restaurant?
The price range can vary depending on the specific restaurant, but generally, expect to pay more than at a standard restaurant. A three-course meal with wine could cost anywhere from €40 to €80 or more per person. Some establishments may offer tasting menus, which provide a comprehensive culinary experience at a higher price point.
Do gourmet restaurants in Malaga cater to dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)?
Many gourmet restaurants are increasingly aware of dietary restrictions and are willing to accommodate them. While dedicated vegan options might be less common, most chefs can prepare modified dishes to suit specific needs. It's always best to mention your requirements when making a reservation.
What is the dress code like at these establishments?
While not overly strict, a smart casual dress code is generally expected. This typically means avoiding overly casual attire such as shorts, flip-flops, and athletic wear. Dressing respectfully demonstrates appreciation for the restaurant’s ambiance and attention to detail.
How do I understand the menu if I don't speak Spanish?
Most gourmet restaurants catering to international clientele will have menus translated into English. If not, don't hesitate to ask the staff for assistance. Many servers are fluent in English and happy to explain the dishes in detail.
What is the best way to experience the full gastronomic offering?
For a truly immersive experience, consider opting for a tasting menu. This allows you to sample a selection of the chef's signature dishes, often paired with carefully selected wines. It's an excellent way to explore the chef's creative vision and the diversity of local ingredients.
Are there any opportunities for cooking classes or culinary experiences related to these restaurants?
While it is not universally available, some gourmet restaurants or affiliated culinary schools may offer cooking classes or other experiential events. Check the restaurant’s website or inquire directly with the staff to see if such opportunities are offered. This can be a wonderful way to learn about Andalusian cuisine and cooking techniques.
