Patricio Bosch

Cute little shop, very reasonably priced.

Not too much choice for men, mostly shirts, t-shirts and polos. Basically all Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Puma etc priced €16-€24.
For women there is a lot of choice, lots of clothing and accessories.

Very nice and helpful staff!

Great shop and staff.
The music and atmosphere is nice, and the guy with the long hair who works there is an absolute gent.
I’ve found some pretty wild clothes there, but also some practical every day wears, the most recent being a seemingly new Ralph Lauren top.
Would recommend this place, and the guy there is fluent in English too incase you’re still learning Spanish.

We walked past and it was closed for Feria but talked to a lady who happened to work in the shop so she opened for us and we were amazed at the wonderful things they sell. Unfortunately, we were about to go back to the airport so it was not a good time to buy anything but they sell a wonderful variety of products. The inside courtyard they share with other buildings is also beautiful. It was really amazing to find this shop. We will visit again!

Yo me iba a llevar unas gafas. Asqueroso. COMERCIO IRRESPETUOSO FUERA DE MALAGA!!

Bought some gorgeous antique tiles from here. A real treasure trove, that I hope to go back to soon/hope is still around when I next visit. I wish I had more time to chat about some of the history of the things on sale but was pressed for time, and also might have bought out half the store had I spent anymore time here.

It’s sort of a pleasant shock that there are still shops like it in the old town, so all the more important for people to frequent and support these types of businesses that are the reason that make Malaga worth visiting.

You can find Spanish ceramics, furniture from different periods, vintage posters and prints, silverware, antique jewelry, and collectible art. The influences of Moorish, Roman, and Renaissance periods are often represented.

While many are open throughout the year, they may have reduced hours during the off-season (typically November to March). It's a good idea to check online or call ahead to confirm operating hours, especially if you are traveling outside of the peak tourist months. Some stores also close for national holidays.

How can I identify a genuine antique?

Identifying a genuine antique can be tricky. Look for signs of age, such as patina (a natural discoloration due to oxidation), signs of wear and tear consistent with age, and hand craftsmanship. Be cautious of items that appear too perfect or have recently applied finishes. Consider seeking the opinion of a professional appraiser if you're unsure.

What is a reasonable price range for antiques in Malaga?

The price range for antiques in Malaga varies greatly depending on the item's rarity, condition, historical significance, and the reputation of the seller. Smaller items like ceramics or vintage postcards may be relatively inexpensive, while larger pieces of furniture or rare artwork can command significant prices. Always negotiate and compare prices between different stores.

Are there any specific areas in Malaga known for antique stores?

The historic center of Malaga, particularly around Calle Larios and surrounding side streets, is the primary area where you've concentrated antique stores and shops. The Soho district, though known for contemporary art, also has a growing number of stores offering a curated selection of antiques and vintage items. Exploring the Pedregalejo neighborhood can sometimes uncover hidden gems.

What should I do if I suspect an antique is fake or misrepresented?

If you suspect an antique is fake or misrepresented, calmly express your concerns to the seller. Ask for more information about the item's provenance (history of ownership). If you are still unconvinced, thank them for their time and consider purchasing from a different store. Remember to document your interactions and keep records of any receipts.

Are there any regulations or licenses required for antique dealers in Malaga?
