The staff was extremely friendly, which made the whole process feel very welcoming and professional. The handling was simple and straightforward, with no unnecessary complications. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the best car available, which exceeded my expectations. All in all, I was very satisfied with the entire rental experience and would definitely come back again in the future. Keep up the great work!
El personal fue muy amable, lo que hizo que todo el proceso fuera muy acogedor y profesional. El trámite fue sencillo y rápido, sin complicaciones innecesarias. Me sorprendió gratamente recibir el mejor coche disponible, que superó mis expectativas. Be extremely careful when renting a car from SIXT at Málaga Airport, especially if you booked through a third-party platform. Watch out for these three major issues:
1. Insurance scam: They often claim that the insurance you purchased via the third party is invalid, especially for cross-border travel, and will either pressure you or secretly add their own extremely expensive insurance. Their rental agreements are tricky, and it’s hard to spot the hidden charges — you might think you are only paying a deposit, but later find out they charged you hundreds of euros more.
2. Pre-existing vehicle damage: The car might already have damage that you didn’t cause. Make sure you thoroughly inspect the car (including the bodywork and bumpers) and take clear photos before driving away. The staff’s inspection standards are inconsistent — some are careful, others are very careless — and you could end up being blamed for damages you didn’t cause when returning the car.
3. Fuel deposit: Even if you return the car with a full tank, they might not refund your fuel deposit. It’s very easy to miss this if you don’t double-check the final bill carefully.
I originally paid €280 through a third-party platform, but SIXT charged me an additional €300 — more than double my planned budget!

I recently had yet another fantastic experience with SIXT at Malaga Airport, and I genuinely cannot recommend them enough. I had booked a BMW 4 Series online with the VIP pickup service, and as always, SIXT continues to set the gold standard in airport rentals. Their stand is always spotless, well-staffed, and, unlike the competition, never has those frustrating snake-like queues. It’s smooth, efficient, and premium from the moment you arrive.
Upon reaching the counter, I was warmly welcomed by Manuel Jesus, who instantly made me feel like a valued customer. He pulled up my reservation on the SIXT tablet, clearly showing everything I had booked—including the specific insurance package—and explained every detail with patience and precision.
I cheekily asked if there were any upgrades available, and to my delight, Manuel offered me an upgrade to a Porsche Cayman for a small additional fee. It absolutely made my day. He was incredibly accommodating, even waiting patiently while I transferred additional funds for the increased deposit on this stunning vehicle.
Manuel then clearly explained where to pick up the Porsche in the airport car park and provided all the necessary info about the vehicle. When I got to the car, I was blown away—it was absolutely immaculate, looking straight out of a showroom. Driving the Cayman was an incredible experience, and the entire rental period was seamless and enjoyable.
Returning the vehicle was just as smooth—quick, professional, and without any issues. Even the deposit was refunded promptly within three days, which is always appreciated.
Yes, SIXT might be slightly more expensive than some of the other options out there, but trust me, the premium service, newer cars, and unmatched convenience make it more than worth it. A huge thank you again to Manuel Jesus for making an already great experience truly exceptional. SIXT continues to be my go-to rental company across the globe!

We went to pick up rental car at 11 PM on April 5. A woman who introduced herself as Laura welcomed us kindly. She checked that we have a long rental period (27 days) and started giggling with colleague next to her in a way that felt unprofessional.
She repeatedly suggested us to upgrade an Audi for an extra 12€ per day, but we chose to stick with our original option. From that moment her attitude and tone changed noticeably unpleasant and dismissive.
Every time we declined her "suggestions", she sneered and made sarcastic comments to her colleague, making us feel mocked.
Then, she began to push us to purchase the company’s full coverage insurance—not as a suggestion, but more like a mandatory.
We’d already purchased insurance through a third party but she ignored this and kept listing worst-case scenarios and acted as if we had no choice and we need to contract directly with them. We refused multiple times, but she made no attempt to hide her displeasure. Her attitude became increasingly aggressive, she even said, "Do you want to be in trouble?" which I doubt what I heard.
She started to show visible anger and frustration while we were reading the agreement before confirmation. We were checking if the option of cross border driving to Portugal we applied was included but she yelled at us and kept forcing us clicking confirmation button immediately on us. The option was not included and we almost missed it. We felt extremely pressured and we were very upset. I told her we‘re reading now but she ignored and kept repeating like she heard nothing.
Is this a normal way to deal with customers?
Laura, is it your job to threaten and pressure customers? If you can’t control your temper, you’re only proving your lack of professionalism yourself. I truly hope you think about basic manner and work ethic for customers.
We used another rental car company before, the staff there explained things clearly and accepted our decisions right away.
That night, we moved to accommodation feeling very upset and uncomfortable. My husband couldn’t sleep feeling anxious. even though he was fully aware of insurance conditions as we booked 7 months a go.
On may 2, we returned the car to the Madrid airport location. Staff there checked the car and confirmed everything was fine without any issues.
This rude and dismissive attitude of the staff was the only unpleasant experience during our entire 40-day honeymoon in Spain. It was our first time using Sixt, and we’re not sure if we’ll ever use it again.

Fast service and car as promised.
The car matched the description and was delivered in great condition. However, I felt pressured to purchase additional insurance. Also, the quality of the child seat could be improved—it seemed quite basic and worn.

Alles Prima, neuwertiges Auto, vollgetankt aber leider kein AdBlue aufgefüllt. Das sollte so nicht sein.
Ansonsten alles prima und sehr freundlich.
Schalter ist aktuell im Auto-Abholbereich, das sollte unbedingt besser (bzw überhaupt) ausgeschildert werden.

Excellent location from Malaga Airport. Marta was a knowledgeable staff member who was patient and catered to our needs.
The car chosen was an upgrade and for a small addition was well worth it.
Definitely will use Sixt and recommend to friends and colleagues.
