Google: ⸻ We had an amazing stay at The Urban Jungle Hostel! ✨ The location is unbeatable – right on the beach with real jungle vibes, it feels like paradise. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms were always spotless. The service is outstanding: Umberto, the host, is super friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. He even cooked for us – such a highlight! He also organizes fantastic Coiba tours, which we can highly recommend. Everything was perfectly arranged and we had unforgettable experiences. In short: absolutely top – from the atmosphere and cleanliness to the service! If you come to Santa Catalina, this is the place to stay.
Interesting hostel, really positive vibes all around and I especially enjoyed the tapas nights. I actually thought the paella/fiduea was tastier and had more depth of flavour than any other restaurant paellas I've had in Spain, so BRAVO!! I'm not joking either because I am a chef and work in a Spanish tapas. The mushroom croquetas were delicious too. Thanks for the meal, I didn't get the staff name who made the food but she was so nice. Also the receptionist who checked me in, I think it was Laura whom was very warm, welcoming and so cute! I have been several times to Malaga and this is one of my favourite stays, thanks to Urban Jungle for making it more fun especially for a solo traveller. Definitely recommend it for location and all the above.
This was a great hostel. The location is very ideal ( restaurants / cafes / bakeries/ stores ) everything is around the corner. The staff was amazing, really friendly and accommodating. The receptionists and cleaning staff were amazing. Olmo was my favorite receptionist as he was the friendliest staff there, always willing to talk and to share good spots to go to in Malaga and found the time to play chess with me.
This hostel was pretty good. Very clean and a good kitchen and rooftop. It was pretty social and I met some good people. Most of the hostel activities are outsourced (i.e. the pub crawls, walking tours) so it's very convenient but doesn't mean you'll necessarily be meeting people from the hostel. Bathrooms were super clean, though having to press the button every 20sec for water in the shower was annoying. The beds were very creaky if your weight wasn't perfectly spread out. Tack on the fact it's in a party area (so street noise) and you'll have room-mates coming back all through the night, it's not the best for a great sleep. But I think most people know that coming in (myself included) and so didn't bother me too much - just be aware. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, given this was probably the most expensive hostel from my research, I might opt for a different one if I was to come back to Malaga. But if you want something in a great location, that's super clean and modern, and you're not planning on a long stay, then I reckon this ticks all your boxes!
Great place to stay as a solo traveller. Very good location as it is right in the center of everything. I got welcomed by the sweetest receptionist, Laura, who was being super kind and helpful all the time. The only negative thing I will mention about this hostel was the kitchen. I saw a lot of ants in the kitchen and on the kitchen equipment as well. Not very appealing... Otherwise, super stay, nice events they do, such as pub crawl as well!
